Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ogbomoso zone of Oyo State have declared their readiness to deliver massive votes for President Bola Tinubu and the party in the 2027 general elections.
The declaration was made on Thursday, January 8, at a high-powered unity rally held at Oja’gbo, Ogbomoso, where party leaders, serving and former office holders, and hundreds of supporters converged to reaffirm their loyalty to the APC and its leadership.
The rally, which was led by the Oyo State APC Chairman, Alhaji Olaide Abass, signalled renewed cohesion within the party and a strong resolve to reclaim political dominance in the state.
The event attracted an array of prominent party figures, including Senators Abdulfatai Buhari, Sarafadeen Alli, Yunus Akintunde, Ayoade Adeseun and Hosea Agboola; former Oyo State First Lady and Ambassador-designate, Mrs Florence Ajimobi; former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare; and members of the House of Representatives, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi, Hon. Aderemi Oseni and Hon. Olaminuwonlo Alao-Akala.
Others in attendance were Prince Williams Adeleye and several other influential APC chieftains from across the state.
In his welcome address, Hon. Odebunmi described Ogbomoso as a historic bastion of progressive politics, assuring party faithful that the APC would intensify mobilisation and grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 polls.
He said the unity rally was a clear demonstration of the party’s preparedness to consolidate and expand its influence across the zone and the state at large.
Former Oyo State APC Chairman, Chief Akin Oke, urged members to put aside personal ambitions and work collectively for the success of the party.
According to him, the APC had “paid its dues” while in opposition in Oyo State and must now present a united front to return to power in 2027.
“The task before us requires sacrifice, discipline and unity. We must place the interest of the party above individual considerations,” he said.
Delivering the keynote address, Senator Teslim Folarin, Oyo State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, charged party members to aggressively take President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots.
He urged APC faithful to enlighten voters on what he described as the quality, competence and vision of the Tinubu administration.
“Our gathering today sends a clear message that the APC in Oyo State is united, focused and fully aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Folarin said.
“At the right time, we will move into every ward, village and community to mobilise voters, and the outcome of the 2027 elections will be an outright victory for the APC.”
In her remarks, Florence Ajimobi appealed to party members to sustain unity and peaceful coexistence, expressing confidence that the APC remains the most formidable political force in Oyo State.
She said stakeholders were determined to preserve the prevailing harmony to ensure President Tinubu’s re-election and the party’s return to Agodi Government House in 2027.
Naijaonpoint reports that the rally concluded with a formal endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term.
Hundreds of defectors from other political parties were also received into the APC, drawing cheers from party supporters.
The new members, who hailed from Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Oriire, Ogo-Oluwa and Surulere local government areas, were described by party leaders as a major boost to the APC’s strength and grassroots presence across the Ogbomoso zone.
