2027: Group Slams Atiku Over Defection

Atiku Abubakar PDP presidential candidate 1

The Eastern Union, EU, Thursday, stated that the resignation of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, was inconsequential.

The group, which is championing inclusiveness and good governance in the old Eastern Region, further claimed that Atiku’s quitting the PDP was a good omen.

EU disclosed this in a release signed by its National President, Charles Anike.

Quoting the release, “Atiku is the major problem of the party since inception. Atiku’s quest for power has been for long, and has adversely contributed to the downfall of PDP.

“His resignation was necessary for the party to enjoy peace once again. This wasn’t his first time of leaving the party to gang up with other political interests who also hitherto lost relevance among the people.”

Anike stated that Atiku would have endeared himself more to the hearts of many Nigerians if he had toed the path of retiring from politics rather than resigning from PDP.

Quoting EU, “Atiku’s resignation showed that he is not remorseful and unrepentant of his anti-PDP activities in 2014/15. The citizens are still suffering hopelessly over that. The biggest question Nigerians are asking is: what is Atiku Abubakar still looking for in politics?

“Atiku should advise himself and quit politics completely for his own good and for the good of the country, if really, he has any atom of love for the country. He should rather support the popular will of the Nigerian people.”

THE WHISTLER reports that Mr Atiku Abubakar, a few days ago, announced his resignation from the PDP in a letter to his PDP ward chairman in Adamawa State.
