The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has signaled a possible collaboration with former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, ahead of the 2027 elections.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, stated that El-Rufai, as a former member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), now understands which party truly upholds the rule of law.

In response to speculations about El-Rufai joining the opposition, Ologunagba noted that party membership is determined at the ward and local government levels.

“The membership of our party comes from the ward and local government, and the party is open with free entry and exit,” he stated.

The development follows El-Rufai’s recent meetings with key political figures, including PDP’s 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu.

El-Rufai also met with Kaduna PDP chieftains this past weekend, fueling speculations of a political realignment in preparation for the 2027 elections.
