2027: Makinde moves to unseat Tinubu as presidential campaign posters flood PDP convention

Makinde

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has reportedly initiated moves to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

DAILY POST reports that campaign posters of Makinde have flooded Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, where the PDP is currently holding its national convention, slated for November 15–16.

One of the campaign posters sighted by DAILY POST read: “Relax, Seyi Makinde will fix Nigeria in 2027.”

The move comes amid the ongoing leadership crisis within the PDP.

DAILY POST earlier reported that Justice Peter Odo Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja issued a final order stopping the party from proceeding with its 2025 National Convention scheduled for Ibadan, Oyo State.

Recall that former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido had filed a suit challenging his exclusion by the party from contesting for a leadership position in the PDP.

However, Justice Lifu, in his final judgment on Friday afternoon, barred the PDP from proceeding with the convention until it complies with its Constitution and guidelines for the convention.

He ordered that the convention be put on hold until Lamido is allowed to purchase a nomination form for the office of National Chairmanship and campaign to realize his aspiration.
