In preparation for its scheduled 2025 Elective National Convention, one of Nigeria’s opposition parties, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated a 44-member zoning committee.
The committee, the party said will focus on deciding which key positions within the PDP go to any particular zone.
The committee is also making a definite decision on which zone across the country will produce the candidate to fly the party’s presidential flag in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
Members of the committee have been mandated to carry out the tasks with fairness, equity and balance.
They were also tasked with ensuring they have the unity of the party, its members and Nigeria in mind during their assignments.
