The Director of Commonwealth Institute of Advanced and Professional Studies, Prof Anthony Kila, has described as totally unacceptable, the excuses of defecting governors of wanting to be close to the centre.

Prof Kila blasted the defecting governors on Wednesday, when he featured in an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’ monitored by DAILY POST.

According to him, those governors lack character, stamina, vision and a lot of other things to be called leaders.

“I have a bias against people who leave the opposition to join the ruling party; in my mind, they lack character, vision, and stamina.

“I believe that governors who have defected and who may be uncomfortable with the lack of automatic ticket assurances they are hearing will not leave the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

“This declaration is a farce intended to placate people and assure them that the party is upholding democratic principles.

“These governors can’t tell me they don’t know who President Bola Tinubu was two years ago. You discover him now and you leave your party to join him.

“You cannot say for you to rule your state very well, you have to be part of the centre. That allows me to say it’s totally unacceptable and nonsense,” he said.
