The Zamfara State chapter of the African Democratic Congress has extended an open invitation to Governor Dauda Lawal to dump the Peoples Democratic Party and join its ranks.
Speaking during a press briefing in Gusau on Friday, the state capital, the ADC State Chairman, Kabiru Garba, described the party as a rising political force in Zamfara and called on Governor Lawal to key into its progressive vision.
Garba said, “We want to extend a formal invitation to Governor Dauda Lawal to join our party and help bring more development to Zamfara State.”
Naijaonpoint reports that he assured that the ADC remains open to defectors from across political lines, stressing that the party would not discriminate based on previous affiliations.
He said, “Our doors are widely open to receive all defectors irrespective of their political background or positions. We are ready to give both new and old members equal treatment to ensure a robust democratic process.”
Garba also announced that more than 100 political actors from various political parties had already joined the ADC in Zamfara, drawn by what he called the party’s “justice, fairness and inclusive leadership.”
He stated, “All intended defectors should come through their ward leadership before reaching local government, then state up to the federal level.
“We believe in recognising grassroots politics because that’s the best way to reflect the mandate of the electorate.”
