The Osun State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun, has arrested a 26-year-old man, a resident of the Ijebu-Ijesha community, for defiling his wife’s daughter.
In a statement issued by the Corps Public Relations Officer, Yusuf Idowu, on Thursday, he said the arrest followed a complaint by the man’s wife that he had carnal knowledge of her 9-year-old daughter.
It was gathered that during the interrogation process, the suspect, Elijah, confessed to defiling his wife’s daughter some three years ago and to having lain with her recently, which led to his arrest.
The suspect said he had taught in schools and could not fathom what had led him to commit such a disgraceful act.
In a similar case, a 26-year-old resident of Modakeke, ThankGod Friday, raped his employer’s 12-year-old daughter.
He confessed to raping her twice, which led to his being handed over to operatives of Osun Amotekun to face the full wrath of the law.
It was also gathered that the suspect is an indigene of Akwa Ibom State who was working as a farm laborer in Modakeke.
Part of the statement reads,
“In the same vein, Adeleke Sodiq, a 60 years old man forcefully gained his access to the body of a 6 years old toddler of Ode-omu residence, Osun State. The old man who was caught rapping the toddler pleaded and confessed his first time of perpetrating act. He lured the child with money in other to deceive her into entering his room and raped her in the process.
“In a separate operation, the Amotekun Corps arrested two individuals for burglary at Oluponna, in Olaoluwa Local Government Area of Osun State. Sodiq Adeshina (30), a bricklayer by profession, and his accomplice Kareem Marouf (25), an electrician, were caught stealing electrical appliances and cables from an uncompleted building.
“Following intelligence reports, Amotekun operatives tracked down and arrested the suspects. Items recovered from the scene and subsequent searches include electrical appliances and wiring materials valued at over ₦450,000.
“The suspects confessed during interrogation that they had been selling the stolen items to a known buyer in Iwo before their luck ran out.”
