Popular Nigerian singer Aituaje Iruobe, known as Waje, has announced that she is engaged.

The 45-year-old singer singer shared the good news in a recent interview with Hip TV Lagos.

I am actually engaged,” she said without giving further details about her engagement.

Naijaonpoint reports that the singer had earlier stated that she cannot marry an unsuccessful man.

She explained that age isn’t on her side for her to be patient with a struggling man.

During the podcast interview on The Honest Bunch, Waje also disclosed that the father of her daughter denied responsibility and abandoned her after getting her pregnant as a teenager.

Meanwhile Waje has disclosed that she was the female vocalist on P-Square’s 2007 hit song Do Me, but did not receive any payment for her contribution.

The artiste revealed this during an appearance on the HonestBunch Podcast with Daddy Freeze, where she spoke about her early days in the music industry and how her voice became part of one of P-Square’s biggest songs.

Waje said she performed the chorus of the track but was not officially credited or featured on it.

Naijaonpoint reports that she recalled moments when she would tell people that the voice on Do Me was hers, yet many doubted her because her name was not mentioned.

The twin brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye, later separated in 2016 after personal and managerial issues but briefly reunited in 2021 before returning to their solo music paths.

The singer first gained public attention after the release of Do Me, which became a nationwide hit.

She, however, was unable to appear in the music video because she did not possess a passport at the time it was filmed.
