50 Cent is leaning all the way into the controversy surrounding Sean Combs, and he’s not apologizing for it.

As a producer on Netflix’s Sean Combs: The Reckoning, the rapper says he felt it was crucial to hear directly from Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s former girlfriend of nearly a decade, before bringing the explosive docuseries to life.

“I think she’s going to understand it,” 50 Cent said of Cassie watching the series. “It was important that I spoke to her to understand how things transpired.” Cassie began dating Diddy when she was around 18 or 19, a relationship that played out on and off for years under the glare of his larger-than-life fame.

According to the documentary, what looked glamorous on the outside was allegedly defined by control, manipulation and abuse behind closed doors.

50 also revealed he spoke separately with Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine. “[We had] separate, individual communication,” he said. “When you hear things multiple times from different people, it rings true.”

Cassie’s bombshell 2023 lawsuit accusing Diddy of rape and physical abuse, which was settled within days. Despite Diddy’s lawyers calling the project a “shameful hit piece,” it surged in popularity, but this week, a videographer for the disgraced music mogul alleged that some of the footage used was stolen.
