A prolific Hendon burglar, Bryan Mockble, 60, has been jailed for six and half years in London over cases of burglary offences.

A Met Police investigation led to the successful conviction of Mockble.

Mockble, 60, of no fixed address, was sentenced to six-and-a half years in prison after admitting four to burglary offences in the Hendon area between December 2023 and May 2024.

He was also convicted of four breaches of existing criminal behaviour orders relating to previous offending.

According to the Met, the magistrate took into account Mockble’s previous burglary convictions when handing down the sentence.

The police reports that on Friday, 10 May, local Hendon officers responded to a report at Elm Close, NW4 from a concerned member of the public after a man was seen acting suspiciously, trying car door handles and moving in and out of different properties.

Officers responded quickly to the call and arrived at the scene within minutes. Utilising police dogs and a police helicopter, the officers conducted a thorough search leading to the discovery and arrest of Mockble hiding in a garden shed. Mockble was found in possession of a stolen racing bike and a bottle of whisky.

The police said upon further investigation after his arrest, it was discovered that Mockble was also wanted in connection with three burglaries in other areas of North West London.

Inspector Yu Zhang, who led the North West Neighbourhoods team and the investigation, said “As part of our A New Met for London engagement events we have carried out locally, we actively listened to the concerns of our communities. Your voices have been heard and we are dedicated to reducing crime through community crime fighting initiatives.

“We are dedicated to reducing crime through these plans, operating in five boroughs across north west London and collaborating with partners. Our goal is to address issues effectively, enhance safety, build trust and minimise criminal activity across London.

“Apprehending prolific offenders like Bryan Mockble is a crucial aspect of our strategy and this is an excellent result.”

Mockble pleaded guilty to all charges at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 7 June. He was sentenced at the same court on Tuesday, 25 June.
