A Kano Magistrate Court has ordered the remand of a security guard employed by Azman Air, along with four others, over their alleged involvement in the theft of 80 aircraft brakes valued at more than N140 million.

The case was brought to light following a complaint filed by Otaru Bashir, an employee of Azman Air. He alleged that the security guard, in collaboration with others, conspired to steal the aircraft brakes from the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.

During the investigation, authorities recovered three of the stolen aircraft brakes from one of the accused persons, Yakubu Bala.

The suspects—Nuhu Auwalu, Yakubu Bala, Emmanuel Luka, and Safiyanu Abdullahi—were arraigned on charges of conspiracy and theft. However, they all pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Presiding over the case, Justice Farouk Ibrahim Umar ordered the suspects to be remanded in custody pending further investigation. He also directed law enforcement to expedite their inquiries to ensure justice is served.
