Abia lawmaker who ‘assaulted’ bolt driver in Abuja, attacked

A range of angry Nigerians have stormed the social media pages of Alex Ikwechegh, a lawmaker, representing Aba North/South Federal Constituency (APGA) who was captured in disturbing footage, physically and verbally assaulting a Bolt driver, Stephen Abuwatseya.

NaijaOnPoint.com.ng(NOP) reports that the lawmaker, in the video that was captured by the bolt driver was seen verbally and physically assaulting the bolt driver.

According to Ikwechegh, the Bolt driver had disrespected him. By disrespect, the lawmaker said Abuwatseya had demanded that he (the lawmaker) come out to receive a package he had ordered, instead of personally handing it over.

Ikwechegh is heard saying, “Do you know where you are? Do you know who I am?”, with the driver responding, “I don’t want to know, just pay me and let me go.”

Ikwechegh also made an alarming threat, reportedly saying, “I can make this man disappear in the whole of Nigeria and nothing would happen,” this is after he repeatedly slapped the bolt driver.

The footage has since sparked a widespread outrage with many calling on the authorities to apprehend the lawmaker for making such serious threats.

However, other Nigerians have stormed the lawmakers social handles to rain curses following his behavior towards the bolt driver.
