A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Chairman and CEO of Hallmark Bank, Mark Wabara, has expressed confidence that Abians will rally behind Governor Alex Otti, for a second term in office due to his impressive achievements so far.

Speaking to newsmen on Sunday, after a private meeting with the governor in Umuahia, Wabara lauded Governor Otti’s performance, particularly in infrastructure, security, and education, describing him as a very effective leader.

“First and foremost, let me say that we had a very good relationship in the banking industry. He was a former Chief Executive of a bank like myself, so we have built that relationship,” Wabara said, emphasizing their longstanding connection.

Wabara, who hails from Ukwa East Local Government Area in Abia South, highlighted the governor’s developmental strides and noted that his achievements have resonated well with Abians and Nigerians at large.

“Since I’m resident in Lagos and I came home for the Christmas and New Year, it is usually necessary and important that I come and pay him a courtesy visit and also tell him that the people of Abia and the people of Nigeria are very impressed so far with his performance as the Executive Governor of Abia State,” he said.

While acknowledging that Otti’s current focus is on completing his first term, Wabara expressed confidence that Abians would support him for re-election based on his track record.

“Even if you are to ask His Excellency about second term, he will say that, for now, he wants to finish his first term.

“Like I said, his job so far speaks for itself and I have no doubt that for the second term people will support him,” Wabara declared.

Accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Iyanagbo Wabara, the APC chieftain reaffirmed his belief that Governor Otti’s leadership style and commitment to development would earn him widespread support for a second term.
