Abuja Bombing: Do Not Give In To Fear – Mahmoud Tells FCT Residents

The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mariya Mahmoud, has urged residents of the capital city not to give in to fear over bomb explosions.

Naijaonpoint reported that bomb explosions occurred on Monday at Tsangagyar Sani Uthman Islamiyya School in Abuja, killing two persons, while two others were injured.

Mrs. Mahmoud, who on Wednesday visited the scene of the bomb explosion at Kuchikuyi community in Bwari Area Council, assured the residents of the government’s commitment to protecting all FCT dwellers.

“We understand the fear and concern that recent events may have caused. Please, know that the authorities are working tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all residents,” she said.

She disclosed that investigations were underway and security measures were already in place to prevent any further incidents.

The Minister of State for FCT advised the residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to security agencies.

“Investigations are underway, and heightened security measures have been put in place to prevent any further incidents.

“During this time, let us remain vigilant but not give in to fear. Stay informed through verified sources, cooperate with security agencies, and support one another as a community,” she added.

The Minister was accompanied to the scene by the FCT Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu; Commander of Guards Brigade, Brig. Gen. A.O Onasanya; and FCT Sector Commander Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Olusola Odumosu.
