Precious Oruche, a supporter of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election has been arrested by the Edo State Police Command.
The activist also known as Mama P was detained at the Edo State Police Criminal Investigation Department, in Benin.

National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, disclosed this via a post on his X handle yesterday.
His word: “Mama P has been detained at state CID @ Edo State Police Headquarters, off Sapele road, Benin City.
“I have just spoken to our legal Director to deploy lawyers to her rescue. We want more people to come for her rescue. Lawyers and all concerned should please mount immediately. We need everyone’s support for her NOW.”
The arrest followed allegations of an altercation between Mama P and the factional National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure.
Unconfirmed report said she was released last night and requested to report back on Monday.
Mama P had reportedly accused Julius Abure’s supporters of leading an unprovoked attack on her person before and after a flight from Abuja to Benin on Friday.
However, Abure’s supporters in a statement signed by the factional LP National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, accused “Mama P” of unprovoked verbal assault on Abure, before and throughout the said flight.
