Italian Serie A giants AC Milan have announced that they are parting ways with coach Sergio Conceicao following their disappointing campaign, Soccernet.ng reports.

Conceicao was appointed as Paulo Fonseca’s replacement after the former was sacked in December. Under Fonseca, Chukwueze did not start a lot of games, but he still got a lot of minutes.

However, upon Conceicao’s appointment as AC Milan coach, Chukwueze’s minutes dropped drastically. He became a regular bench warmer.

The Super Eagles star only appeared in 13 of the 25 games that he was available for and got only 280 minutes of action in all.

Due to his lack of game time, there have been a lot of speculations that Chukwueze will leave AC Milan in the summer so as to get more game time.

Now, in a new development, AC Milan have confirmed that they have parted ways with Conceicao as he will no longer be the head coach.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan will appoint former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri as coach, with the announcement imminent.

Now that Sergio Conceicao has been sacked, there will be a rejig at AC Milan. Coach Allegri is quite methodical, and he will try to shape the team to suit his style of play.

However, it is unlikely that Samuel Chukwueze will stay in Milan. The Super Eagles star has failed to cut it under three different managers at AC Milan. So, the club will be willing to let him leave and recoup most of the €21.1 million they spent on him.

A return to Villarreal cannot be ruled out. But there is also interest from Premier League club Fulham. The 26-year-old winger will prioritize a club where he will get consistent playing time.
