Access Bank, one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, has strongly refuted claims that N500 million is missing from a customer’s account. The allegations were made by Vincent Otse, a social media influencer known as VeryDarkMan, who accused the bank of engaging in sharp practices involving the account of a deceased customer.

In a statement released on Sunday via its social media channels, Access Bank asserted that it does not engage in or tolerate any unethical behavior. The bank emphasized that the safety and security of its customers’ funds are of utmost importance and are taken seriously.

The bank stated, “The allegations of missing funds in the bank are most untrue and baseless. There is no N500m or any other fund or amount missing from the subject customer’s account or any other customer’s account with us.”

Access Bank further clarified that it had conducted thorough investigations alongside other independent stakeholders in the banking industry, and all parties independently reached the same conclusion: the claims were unfounded.

The statement also highlighted the bank’s commitment to operating with the highest ethical standards while protecting its customers’ interests and respecting privacy laws.

Access Bank urged the public to disregard sensational and unverified claims, emphasizing the importance of relying on accurate information.

The bank’s swift response aims to reassure its customers and maintain the trust and confidence that Access Bank has built over the years as a reputable financial institution in Nigeria.
