Nigerian actress Etinosa Idemudia, has shared her view that acting is more challenging than engineering.
Speaking on the Bold Enough To Say It podcast, Idemudia explained that her experience in both careers gave her insight into the intensity of the acting profession.
She described acting as a demanding and intense job, saying that it requires a level of dedication and endurance that is often misunderstood by people outside the film industry.
Idemudia urged actors not to be belittled by those in other professions who may see their work as less serious or less challenging.
Drawing from her own journey, Idemudia contrasted her life as an engineer, where work typically follows structured hours, with acting, which involves long hours, unpredictable schedules, and emotional investment.
She encouraged her colleagues in the movie industry to value their craft and remain confident in the face of external judgment.
She said: “I have been an engineer and I have been an actor, no offence to my colleagues in the engineering world but I dare say that being an actor is much more tasking. It’s a crazy kind of work. It’s a mad people’s work,” she expressed.
“Don’t let those people that close by five PM to come and be insulting us.”
