Nollywood actress and activist, Hilda Dokubo, has criticized Rivers State sole administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-ette Ibas (retired), over what she described as reckless and unaccountable governance.

In a video clip seen by Naijaonpoint, Dokubo expressed outrage, saying the people of Rivers State are witnessing a form of leadership that lacks transparency, accountability, and any connection to the will of the people.

She accused the administrator of signing off on a N1.48 trillion budget without going through any elected representatives or public scrutiny.

According to her, no debate, legislative review, or citizen input was allowed before the budget was approved and made official.

Dokubo particularly pointed at some items in the budget, questioning the rationale behind spending N24 billion on new CCTV installations at the Government House, a facility already equipped with security systems.

She also raised concern over another N30 billion allocated for gunboats, questioning the motive behind such a purchase.

She said: “Their so-called administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-ette, retired, whatever his name is, unveiled a jaw-dropping 1.48 trillion budget. Not a dime of that budget passed through any elected officer. No debates, no public input, no transparency.

“Just one man, handpicked and imposed. Waved a pen and signed on a paper and called it our budget. A budget that was going to be like signing away billions of our commonwealth. Your wealth and mine.”
