Adamawa Ex-Governorship Aspirant, Binani Speaks On Dumping APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Adamawa State in 2023, Aishatu Ahmed, who is popularly known as Binani, has refuted recent speculation regarding her departure from the party.

Binani, who previously contested the governorship election while serving as a senator for the Adamawa Central Zone, reiterated her commitment to the APC, insisting that no external pressure could persuade her to abandon the party.

During an event in Yola on Sunday, organized by one of her support groups, Binani addressed the rumours that she and her supporters had left the APC.

Through her representative, Mijinyawa Kugama, at the inauguration of the executives for the support group titled Gladiators for Binani Only, the politician said: “We have not left the party. We are founding members of the APC, and no force, not even Jupiter, can compel us to abandon it.”

Binani expressed her appreciation to her supporters for their unwavering dedication during the 2023 elections, which enabled her to perform admirably against the incumbent Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, despite a narrow defeat.

In his comments, Umar Mustapha, a notable politician and ally of Binani, emphasized the significance of the Gladiators group in fostering unity among the diverse ethnic communities of Adamawa.

He stated that the group serves as a vital platform for establishing a strong coalition in preparation for the 2027 general elections, with the objective of reclaiming Adamawa State from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.

Himaga Yayirus, the founder of the Gladiators group and state Coordinator, reiterated their commitment to securing the APC’s success in the 2027 elections, praising Binani’s political vision that focuses on poverty alleviation and the empowerment of the underprivileged.

During the event, key officials of the Gladiators for Binani Only were inaugurated, with Maryam Waziri appointed as Secretary and Rhoda Nuhu designated as Women Leader, among others.
