Adamawa Governor, Fintiri’s 𝕏 Account Hacked

The Adamawa State Government has confirmed that hackers have compromised the 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Naijaonpoint reports that this was disclosed on Sunday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, who urged the public to disregard any content emanating from the affected social media handle.

In a statement made available to journalists, Wonosikou said, “Unfortunately, the account has been compromised by hackers, and any content posted from it does not represent the views or statements of the Governor or his representatives.”

He further assured that the government was already taking steps to recover and secure the account, adding that investigations were ongoing to identify the perpetrators.

Wonosikou noted that the Governor regrets any confusion or embarrassment caused by the unauthorised posts and urged residents to verify all official statements via the State Government’s verified platforms.

“We are working diligently to recover the account and restore its integrity. The Governor regrets any embarrassment or inconvenience caused by the actions of the hackers,” he said.

The statement emphasised that until the account is fully restored, all government announcements will be made through official channels such as the state’s verified media platforms and the Press Office of the Governor.
