President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Grace Adayilo, who died recently.

The announcement was made by the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, during Adayilo’s funeral service held on Saturday at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja.

Naijaonpoint reports that the solemn ceremony was attended by top government officials, civil servants, family members, and friends, who gathered to honour her memory.

Describing her death as a painful loss, Wike praised Adayilo as a devoted and humble administrator who gave her best to the FCT Administration.

“On behalf of the FCT Administration and Mr President, I extend our deepest condolences to her family. The President has instructed that her four children be offered automatic employment, understanding that the family has lost its breadwinner,” Wike said.

The Minister commended Adayilo’s exceptional contributions, noting that she played a critical role in ensuring prompt payment of salaries and benefits for workers.

He also described her as a respected mobiliser in her community, whose influence went beyond the civil service.

“She was humble, hardworking and selfless. Her impact on the FCT Administration will not be forgotten,” Wike added.

Naijaonpoint reports that at the service, colleagues and loved ones celebrated Adayilo as a leader with a motherly touch, remembered for her commitment to the welfare of others.

Wike urged Nigerians to emulate her dedication and service, stressing that life’s uncertainty makes it necessary to live for both God and humanity.

“We must learn from her life of service. None of us knows tomorrow. What matters is what we leave behind,” the FCT Minister advised.
