The Kano State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has dissociated itself from those it called breakaway members, who have moved to the African Democratic Congress.

The party warned members that the coalition, who are now members of the ADC, does not represent the interests of the party.

The State PDP Chairman, Yusuf Ado Kibiya, stated this on Thursday while briefing newsmen on the recent developments in the party that have seen a flurry of defections from the party.

Kibiya said, “We categorically distance the Kano State chapter from the breakaway members who have formed a coalition under the African Democratic Congress.

“This coalition does not represent the interests of the PDP, and we urge our members to remain focused on our party’s objectives,” he added.

He assured all members of the party that the entire membership of the PDP is united as one solid base, saying, “Our strength lies in our unity, and we will continue to work together to achieve our common goals.”

Kibiya assured the national leadership of the party of the state executives’ absolute loyalty in all matters concerning the conduct of party business, adding that our commitment to the party remains unwavering.

“We are resolute in our commitment to providing quality leadership. Our focus will be on delivering effective governance and addressing the needs of our constituents,” he said.

The chairman stressed the need for all interested members to register with the party as the best option for the future of Kano State and Nigeria.

“We believe that our party is the vehicle for positive change, and we encourage all citizens to join us in this journey.

“As a united front, the Kano State PDP is committed to the principles of democracy, discipline, and development. We call on all members to continue supporting the party’s leadership and to work diligently towards our shared goals for a brighter future for Kano State and Nigeria,” he said.
