Ado Bayero Hosts Key Religious Function At Mini Palace

The Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Foundation is currently conducting its annual ‘zikr’ prayer session at the Nassarawa mini palace, drawing participants from various parts of Nigeria.

This significant religious event, held during the last week of the Islamic calendar, is dedicated to praying for the nation’s peace and prosperity under the guidance of the Supreme Council of the Tijjaniyya movement in Nigeria.

The annual zikr session is a revered tradition aimed at seeking divine intervention for Nigeria. Led by Sayyadi Ibrahim Dahiru Usman Bauchi, the representative of the leader of the Tijjaniyya movement in Nigeria, the prayer session is part of a broader effort to harness spiritual means for societal welfare.

According to Daily Trust, the Friday ‘dhikr’, a practice observed by Tijjaniyya adherents, takes place every Friday from after asr prayers to maghrib prayers, focusing on supplications for national stability and unity.

The initiative for these sessions dates back to when the Supreme leader, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, consulted with the late 13th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero. With the Emir’s approval, the practice of dedicating the first month of the Islamic calendar, Muharram, to these prayers was established.

This has since evolved into an annual reunion period that not only strengthens the unity among Muslims but also reinforces communal harmony across the nation.

This year’s session saw an impressive turnout with attendees coming from states such as Sokoto, Nguru in Yobe State, Bauchi, Zaria, Kebbi, and Gombe, demonstrating the widespread reverence and support for this spiritual gathering.

The event not only serves as a spiritual assembly but also as a platform for fostering nationwide unity and peace.

The current 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, played a hospitable host to the visitors.
