THE Super Eagles of Nigeria have begun their preparations for the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, with players reporting to the team’s current camp in Cairo, Egypt.
The three-time African champions are scheduled to face Egypt in a friendly match in Cairo tomorrow night before proceeding to Morocco for the tournament.
The first players to arrive in the Renaissance Hotel, Cairo camp to join the technical crew were goalkeepers Francis Uzoho and Stanley Nwabali, who arrived in the morning.
They were joined later yesterday by Lazio midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and newcomer Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, both based in Italy.
Tanzania-based goalkeeper Amas Obasogie as well as Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Igbo Ogbu, new call-up Tochukwu Nnadi all landed in Cairo last night.
Porto left-back Zaidu Sanusi was the 11th player to join the Super Eagles in Egypt, arriving this morning.
According to the Super Eagles media unit, 12 more players will be in Cairo today, to take the number to 23 out of the 28 named in the squad.
The Super Eagles will train at the Cairo International Stadium at 8pm Egyptian time (7pm Nigerian time) tonight.
The 2025 AFCON will be held from December 21 to January 18, with the Super Eagles in Group C with Tanzania, Uganda and Tunisia.
