THE Super Eagles of Nigeria produced a superb display tonight to beat Mozambique 4-0 in Fez and advance to the quarter-finals of the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, with Victor Osimhen scoring twice.

The other members of the starting front three, Ademola Lookman and Akor Adams, added the other goals as the Super Eagles became the first team to score four in one match at this AFCON.

After Osimhen found the back of the net from an offside position in the second minute, the dominant Super Eagles finally found the breakthrough they deserved.

It was the lively Lookman who got the three-time African champions going, rifling home in the 20th minute after a clever cutback from Adams.

It was 2-0 five minutes later as the Super Eagles front three combined to extend their lead.

Osimhen was on hand to tap home after Akor deflected Lookman’s low cross into the Galatasaray striker’s path.

The Super Eagles went into the break 2-0 up, but it could have been more as they ran the Mozambicans ragged, with Alex Iwobi running the midfield and the front three bewildering the Mambas defence.

The third goal arrived shortly after the break, Osimhen getting himself in the perfect position to prod home his third strike of the tournament from three yards, off a fine cross from Lookman.

Adams got the goal his performance deserved 15 minutes from time, powering into the roof of the net to finish off a team move.

Lookman was again the provider, the Atalanta forward taking his tally at Morocco 2025 to three goals and four assists in only three matches.

The Super Eagles will face either the Democratic Republic of Congo or Algeria in the quarter-finals in Marrakesh on Saturday.
