After 66 Years, Green Lantern is Finally Getting Married

There isn’t always time for love and marriage in the life of a Justice League superhero, but one of DC’s most iconic bachelors is about to put that to the test. Fans watched as Green Lantern became a supervillain, but come next year, they’ll watch him do the totally unthinkable… and see Hal Jordan become a husband, instead.

Green Lantern Hal Jordan Will Finally Propose To His Lifelong Love

Green Lantern Proposing to Star Sapphire in Comic Cover

Yes, despite the man’s lifelong bachelor credentials, the cover art for this coming February’s Green Lantern #32 features Hal Jordan presenting Star Sapphire a.k.a. Carol Ferris with an engagement ring, as mcuh to the reader’s surprise as Carol herself. And for those in disbelief, the official synopsis confirms things are exactly as they appear:

The visions that Hal Jordan receives from the Book of Oa grow stronger, leading Green Lantern to make a decision that will change the fate of the Corps and what we know about Green Lanterns forever! And a certain question is popped that will have you asking…are wedding bells breaking up that ol’ Corps of mine? Only time, and next issue’s #600 spectacular will tell!

Green Lantern & Star Sapphire Actually Should Be Married By Now

Batman & Catwoman Are More Famous, But Hal & Carol Are Just As Proven A Romance

The question now becomes: will this proposal, engagement, and wedding proceed as the characters actually intend, or will it be a repeat of Batman and Catwoman’s controversial wedding instead? If anything, Hal Jordan is the kind of hero who will act much faster than Bruce Wayne, which means the odds of these nuptials might actually be high enough to deliver.

The love affair between Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris is actually one of the least volatile in DC history, with the pair’s unrequited love beginning long before they ever took to space. And now that Star Sapphire has fully returned to the side of heroes, there is little stopping these power ring-slingers from admitting they belong together, officially.

Fans will get to see Hal Jordan pop the question when Green Lantern #32 arrives February 25, 2026 from DC Comics.
