Shortly after his stint with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the former governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal has visited his home state.
Tambuwal, who currently serves as the Senator representing Sokoto South senatorial district visited the state on Thursday, August 14.
Politics Nigeria gathered that the former governor’s visit followed his arrest and detention by the commission over an allegation N189 billion fraud.
Tambuwal was released by the EFCC on bail on Tuesday.
In a video post made on X, the lawmaker expressed his delight over the reception given to him by the people of Sokoto.
He wrote in the caption, “I am deeply grateful to the good people of Sokoto for the warm reception and outpouring of love upon my arrival in Sokoto this afternoon. This is one honour among many that I cherish and will never take for granted. -AWT.”
