The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Akwa Ibom says that portal will soon be open for Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mr Obo Effanga, said at a press conference in Uyo on Wednesday that residents of the state should take advantage of the opportunity to get registered.
Effanga said that CVR exercise would also provide opportunity for physical registration at local government council headquarters in the state begining from Aug. 25.
He urged those that had begun the online registration process to visit INEC’s state or local government offices to complete the process.
“It is the same process, INEC now has a portal where people can register as voters. You can begin the process and only visit our offices for data capturing.
“The process will soon begin, it will handle transfer cases, misspelling of names, mistakes in address among others. You can begin from the portal at the comfort of your home,” he said.
The REC cautioned on multiple registrations, saying,” in the case of card loss, the affected person should ask for reprinting, and not attempt to register twice”(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
