At least six persons died in a fatal crash along Mbiabong Itam Road in Akwa Ibom on Wednesday.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Mr. Edward Odiete, disclosed this to journalists on Thursday in Uyo.

Oduete said a tricycle and a truck were involved in the accident which occurred at about 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

He said: “Four men, a woman and two children were involved in the crash. Three of the men, the woman and two children have been confirmed dead.

“We mobilised to the scene on receiving the report, but the driver of the truck fled the crash scene before our arrival.”
