AIG Zone 16 Rates Rivers Command High, Advocates For Inclusive Policing, As Service Commanders Police Hierarchy Holds Interactive Dinner

The Assistant Inspector General of Police, in charge of zone 16 Yenagoa comprising of Rivers and Bayelsa states Police commands, ,AIG Johnson Adenola has advocated inclusive policing which involves engagement by the Police with all sectors of the society.

AIG Adenola made the disclosure during an interactive dinner by the Rivers State Police command, service commanders in the state with members of the public on Saturday, November 1,2025 at Officer’s mess,Old GRA, PortHarcourt.

The programme was co-organized by Bosinde Arikpe Global Peace Initiative Campaign with slogan “Police is your friend”.

“The administration is vigorously pursuing inclusive policing,meaning that we work with all sectors of the society.Stakeholders,civil societies.

Police has realized that we cannot do the work alone,we must work with all stakeholders.

“The gathering we are having today is to interact more with the people outside the confines of the office. I want to enjoin us to take advantage of this platform to regularly interact with the public .I want to thank you for the support you are giving to the Police which culminated into the event.I want to thank our sister agencies for the support they are giving to the Police.

“Before I came to Yenagoa, when I was in Abuja,from security reports,I can authoritatively tell you that Rivers State Police Command is doing very well.

“I am quite conscious of the fact that Police cannot do it alone except with your support. I am appealing to you to continue to support us and sometimes we don’t get it right.These are the opportunity for you to come closer to the Police,the things we are not doing right,feel free to come around to tell us.We encourage you to give us feedback.

“I want to enjoin many of you to join the PCRC It will afford you with opportunity of regular interaction with the Police .I congratulate all the awardees The award given to you is a testament to the service you have rendered to humanity.As a result of that service,there is peace and tranquility in Rivers State.

“I want to tell you, the recipient of the award that there are more hurdles to cross You cannot go beyond the standard.The result for hard work is more hard work.For those of you who did not get the award,work much harder next year to get the award” AIG Adenola said.

Earlier, the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, CP Olugbenga Adepoju disclosed that the Rivers State Police command is committed to building a safer and more secured environment for all and to strengthen the relationship between the Police and the community,they serve.

“This campaign has been resounding success, providing a platform for the Police to engage with the public, listen to their concern and address their security needs.

“Through this initiative,we have been able to build trust,foster cooperation and promote culture of mutual understanding between the Police and the public

“The partnership between the Rivers State Police Command and Bosinde Arikpe Global Peace Initiative have been instrumental in success of this campaign.As we interact with the public today,I urge everyone to take whole advantage of this opportunity,concerns, suggestions, and ideas on how to improve on our services.

“The feedback is key in keeping us to redefine our strategies and enhance our response to security challenges.The impact of this interaction will be multifaceted which will not only strengthen our relationship with the public but also provide insight into the security needs of our communities.

“This will enable us to develop targeted interventions and address the root causes of insecurity and improve the overall safety and security of our dear Rivers State.

“I want to assure you that the Rivers State Police Command is committed to upholding the highest standard of professionalism,integrity and service delivery.We will continue to work tireless to ensure that our state remains safe and secured for all with your support.
