Air Peace Delays Flights Over Heavy Lagos Rain

Air Peace 777

Nigeria’s airline carrier, Air Peace, on Tuesday announced that heavy rainfall in Lagos had caused delays to some of its scheduled flights across the country.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the airline urged passengers to remain patient while it worked to manage the disruptions.

The statement read, “We wish to inform you that due to the heavy downpour of rain in Lagos this morning, some flights across our operating networks will be delayed.

“While weather is beyond our control and safety remains our utmost priority, we appeal for your understanding as we manage the disruptions as best as we can and get you to your destinations safely.

“At Air Peace, safety is not just a priority but a core commitment. We remain dedicated to upholding the highest safety standards for our passengers and crew.”

Naijaonpoint reports that the delay comes after the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), on Saturday, September 13, 2025, opened up on the reason it decided to clear the co-pilot of Air Peace, who was indicted alongside his colleagues, who were found to be involved with hard drugs and alcohol.

Speaking on the matter during an 𝕏 space discussion on Saturday, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the NCAA, Michael Achimugu, emphasised that the regulatory body followed due process based on the available facts and internal investigations.
