Akon found himself in handcuffs on Friday after police in Chamblee, Georgia, tracked down a vehicle connected to an outstanding bench warrant and discovered the singer standing right beside it.
Authorities say a Flock license-plate reader alerted officers around 11 a.m. that a car tied to an active warrant had pulled into Tint World, an automotive shop on Chamblee Dunwoody Road. When police arrived, they quickly confirmed the vehicle belonged to the music star.
Akon, according to officers, did not resist and calmly complied as he was detained on the spot. He was taken to the DeKalb County Jail and released a few hours later.
The arrest is the latest twist in an unusual string of recent run-ins involving the singer and his white Tesla Cybertruck.
Akon was arrested recently over a bench warrant for failure to appear in court for driving with a suspended license.

Back in September, Roswell police reported finding Akon stranded in the Tesla pickup along Holcomb Bridge Road, only to discover his driver’s license had been suspended for failing to appear in court.
The truck was impounded, and weeks later, he was arrested again on a related warrant after being transferred from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office to the Smyrna City Jail.
Officials haven’t said when Akon will be required to return to court, and it’s unclear whether fresh charges could be on the horizon.
Akon has not publicly addressed the arrest.
