Super Eagles and Sevilla striker Akor Jerome Adams has departed the Nigerian camp in Fes to check on his mother after she was admitted to the hospital yesterday, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 25-year-old made his debut for the Nigerian National team in their 2-1 win against Lesotho back in October 2025, and has immediately become a first-team name in Eric Chelle’s side.
Since then, he has started six of Nigeria’s seven games, all alongside Victor Osimhen, scoring three goals and opening his AFCON goal account in Nigeria’s 4-0 win against Mozambique last night.

Akor Adams departs Super Eagles’ camp
The former Montpellier forward dedicated his goal last night to his mother, who was supposed to be with him in Morocco.
“First, Glory to God for the privilege to have my AFCON half goal like all of you have been waiting for, but the goal is dedicated to my mom,” the former Sogndal forward told Soccernet.ng.
“She’s supposed to be here, but she’s in the hospital right now. She was admitted this morning, but she’s much better now.
He’s now been granted permission to leave camp to go be with his mother, although he’s expected to return before Nigeria’s quarter-final clash on Saturday.
