THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured 30 out of 31 local government chairmanship seats in the local government elections held on October 5, 2024, in Akwa Ibom State.
This information was announced today by the Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC).
The commission’s results revealed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) managed to win one local government area.
With the elections successfully concluded, arrangements are now in place for the swearing-in ceremony of the elected Chairmen and Vice Chairmen, scheduled for Monday, October 7, 2024, at 8 am, at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Uyo, the state capital.
This was detailed in a press release signed by the Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government (SSG), Enobong Uwah.
The statement noted that Governor Umo Eno would officiate the ceremony in the presence of distinguished guests.
