The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, has congratulated the Obaloyin of Yorubaland, Senator Abubakar Yari, on his appointment as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hereby Power.
The appointment followed the resignation of billionaire businessman Mr Femi Otedola and was disclosed to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX). It was subsequently ratified at a company meeting held on Monday, following a change in the ultimate beneficial ownership of the company’s issued share capital.
In a congratulatory message issued through his Director of Media and Publicity, Mr Bode Durojaiye, during the week, the Alaafin described the appointment as well-deserved, applauding Senator Yari’s track record of excellence and leadership.
Oba Owoade expressed delight over what he termed the distinguished new role of High Chief Obaloyin, noting that his dedication, vision, and proven leadership qualities make him well-suited for the position.
According to the monarch, Senator Yari’s consistency, strategic insight, and commitment to excellence have earned him the confidence reposed in him, adding that the recognition reflects his significant contributions across sectors.
The Alaafin further stated that Senator Yari’s industry experience and strategic acumen would add value to Hereby Power, strengthen corporate governance, and enhance shareholder confidence.
While wishing him success, Oba Owoade described the appointment as inspiring, expressing optimism that Senator Yari would excel in the role and continue to attain greater heights in his professional journey.
