The media has also been dominated by discussions on how Nigeria can still qualify for the World Cup. “I think they are forgetting the women are going to play this year because all their attention has been on the World Cup qualification for the Super Eagles,” Ekeoma said. While the Super Eagles’ campaign has taken the spotlight, the Super Falcons are also preparing for a major tournament. The 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers are ahead, but Ekeoma and others have expressed concerns about the NFF’s inaction.
