Kemi Filani reported on Saturday, May 17th, the lovebirds, held their traditional wedding in Lagos which had in attendance Davido and the 30bg crew. The singer was captured in videos performing his groomsmen’s duty for Asa. In the clip, which is making rounds online, the superstar singer is captured giving a speech at the wedding reception when he breaks down in tears as he reflects on their humble beginnings. In his speech, Davido noted that he has known Asa for over 16 years and met him two years before he became famous. He revealed that Asa is one of the few people, aside from his wife, father, and uncle, Ademola Adeleke, who can handle him. “Asa, I love you so much. I have known you for 16 years, 2 years before I blew, so we blew together. You are one of the few people who can handle me—you, my wife, my Dad, and my uncle.” Reacting to the video, many noted how Davido is an emotional being. Davido noted how nothing was handed to them, and they built their empire through fire, faith, and a bond that never broke. He further noted that Asa has been more than a manager to him and praised Asika for being the same solid soul he started with. Recall that on September, 2024, Asa Asika had popped the question to his heartthrob. The couple-to-be blushed in their black outfits as family and friends celebrated with them, including his boss, Davido, and the 30BG crew. Taking to his Instagram story, Davido revealed that he was the first person to see the ring as he expressed excitement over their upcoming story. Before meeting his wife, Asa was in a relationship with disc jockey, DJ Cuppy in 2018, the two went public in January with their affair. Asa had revealed how he met DJ Cuppy in an Instagram Q&A, where he claimed his best friend had linked the two of them together some years ago. Cuppy, on her part, had described him as a special person. Unfortunately, like many celebrities’ relationships, they didn’t last long as they parted ways in 2020.
