ANAMBRA: APC postpones campaign council inauguration

APC 1 1 1

THE All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the planned inauguration of its National Campaign Council ahead of the Anambra State governorship election.

In a statement released today through the party’s official X handle, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, confirmed that the event, originally scheduled for September 11, 2025, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, would no longer hold as planned.

Morka explained that a new date would be communicated later, while stressing that the party remained committed to delivering a strong performance in the November 8 election.

“The party regrets any inconvenience this adjustment may cause and assures all stakeholders of its readiness to secure victory in Anambra,” the statement read.

...ponement comes as political parties intensify preparations for what is expected to be a tightly contested race.

The ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party, and the APC are all strategizing to clinch power in the state.

Anambra has long proven challenging terrain for the APC, with APGA dominating since 2006.

In the 2021 governorship election, APC candidate Senator Andy Uba placed third behind APGA’s Charles Soludo and PDP’s Valentine Ozigbo.

Despite repeated setbacks, the APC has continued to strengthen its presence in the South-East through alliances with local politicians and federal backing.

The November poll is now seen as a crucial test of its influence in the region.
