FORMER Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Harford Oseke has passed away at the age of 64.

He hailed from Umuawulu in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The exact circumstances of his death remain unclear.

Some sources suggest that Oseke collapsed during his regular exercise routine at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka yesterday, while others indicate that he had been ill and was hospitalized before news of his passing surfaced yesterday.

Oseke was a law graduate who had recently completed a Ph.D. in Public Administration at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

His political journey began with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and under Peter Obi’s administration, he successfully contested and won a seat in the Anambra State House of Assembly.

Oseke served as the Majority Leader before being elected Deputy Speaker.

Although there has been no official statement from his family or the state government, a close relative, speaking anonymously, expressed sorrow over the loss, noting that Anambra has recently seen the untimely deaths of several prominent politicians.
