#AnambraDecides2025: APC Governorship Candidate Prince Ukachukwu Wins Polling Unit

Nicholas Ukachukwu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the 2025 Anambra State governorship election, Prince Ukachukwu, has secured victory in his polling unit in Nnewi South Local Government Area.

The result, announced by the Presiding Officer, IfeanyiChukwu Chikams Peace, at about 4:01 p.m. on Saturday, showed that Ukachukwu scored 108 votes in Booth 1, while the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate managed four.

In Booth 2 of the same Polling Unit 12, Ward 2, Umudiala village, Osumenyi, the APC extended its lead with 126 votes, as APGA recorded six.

Shortly after casting his ballot, Ukachukwu raised concerns over what he described as widespread vote buying across the state, warning that the trend could damage Nigeria’s democracy if not urgently addressed.

Despite his concerns, the APC flagbearer said he was confident of victory, noting that participating in the election was his right and his duty as a citizen.

He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the early arrival of voting materials and personnel, saying the smooth start contributed to a more organised process.

As counting continues across Anambra, sixteen candidates are battling to unseat Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, who is seeking re-election.
