Onyinyechi Basil from Anambra State has won the title of Miss Universe Nigeria 2025.

Naijaonpoint reports that the event was held on Saturday, August 30, at the Convention Center of Eko Hotels and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The hosts for the night were Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson.

The competition began with 22 contestants, revealed on August 26.

Through several rounds, the field was narrowed to the top 10, and later to the final five, which included representatives from Ogun, Lagos, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, and Bayelsa.

Basil stood out among her peers, delivering impressive performances in swimwear, traditional costume, evening gown, and the question-and-answer segment.

Damilola Bolarinde of Lagos finished as first runner-up.

Fortune Kurobo of Bayelsa and Irene Ikediashi of Ogun were named second and third runners-up, respectively.

In a separate category, Idah Eno from Akwa Ibom was crowned Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025.

As the winner, Basil will represent Nigeria at the 74th Miss Universe pageant on November 20 in Bangkok, Thailand.

She will also receive a cash prize, material gifts, brand endorsements, training opportunities, and paid appearances.
