If you have been eagerly waiting for the stable Android 15 update, today is the day. Google has finally started rolling out tons of new features to the Pixel phones as part of the major Android OS update. One such feature rolling out to select Google Pixel phones is Adaptive Vibration.
Android 15 brings Adaptive Vibration feature that can auto-adjust your phone’s vibration intensity
Earlier this year, there were reports about a new vibration setting that allows Pixel phones to auto-adjust vibration intensity. Once enabled, this feature uses your Pixel phone’s microphone and other sensors to understand the noise level of your environment. Then, it adjusts the vibration intensity accordingly.
Worth noting that the Adaptive Vibration setting page includes a handy animation to detail how the feature works. In the animation, you can see a phone lying around a couch vibrate intensely. That’s because you may not notice the lower vibration intensity due to cushions and other stuff on the couch. On the contrary, if the phone is placed on a tabletop, the Adaptive Vibration feature ensures that the vibration intensity is less to prevent the rustling of objects on the table.
The new feature is available for Pixel 7 and newer models for now
No doubt, it’s a great feature that is practical in real-life scenarios. With this Android 15 feature in place, you may never miss an important notification in a loud environment. Besides, the new feature will also ensure that your device isn’t interrupting your meeting with that rattling sound.
You can access the Adaptive Vibration setting in Android 15 by going to Settings > Sound & vibration > Vibration & haptics. Notably, the Adaptive Vibration feature is rolling out to Pixel 7 series, Pixel 8 series, and Pixel 9 series for now. If you own a phone from a different manufacturer, you should wait for the Android 15 update to be able to use it.
