Android 15 is coming to a bunch more Motorola phones

While some companies are struggling to get their Android 15 update out, others are well on their way. Motorola, a company not notable for speedy updates, has been getting ready to update its phones. According to a new report, Motorola just confirmed Android 15 for a bunch more phones.

Last month, Motorola’s initial list of phones to receive the update showed up on the internet. It showed a long list of 23 phones to get the update. This, of course, includes the company’s most recent flagship phones like the Moto Razr+ (2024). Other phones include the standard Razr (2024) and the latest Edge devices. It shows just how serious Motorola is about updating its phones to Android 15.

Well, Motorola confirmed more phones to get Android 15

The list doesn’t stop there, as a new list of additional phones just popped up. It doesn’t exactly have 23 devices, but it’s still a good list. These devices are the Razr 50s, Razr 40s, Edge (2023), Edge 40, Edge 40 Neo, Edge 30 Ultra, and ThinkPhone 25. These showed up on Motorola’s support pages.

While the report reveals the supported devices, we don’t have an official timeline. That’s a bit frustrating because users could be waiting for months for all they know. Right now, not too many devices have Android 15.

It recently landed on supported Pixel devices, select Vivo phones, and recently the OnePlus Pad 2 and OnePlus 12 series. As for Samsung, users can expect the beta version to launch within the next few weeks. Hopefully, Motorola will release the update sooner rather than later.

What’s new in Android 15?

Android 15 isn’t quite the paradigm shift that Android 12 was, but it still came with some neat features. Firstly, Private Space lets you hide apps and files in a separate space in your software. If you want to access them, you’ll need to pass through another layer of authentication.

Theft Detection will lock your phone down if it detects that someone stole it and ran away. This can come in handy to protect your data.

Android 15 now lets you archive your apps. This will upload your app’s data to the cloud and delete it from your phone. If you need to retrieve it, you’ll be able to re-download it and pick up where you left off.
