Android 15 QPR2 Beta 1 starts rolling out to Pixel 6 and Later

Google has just launched the the first beta for Android 15 QPR2, this is the quarterly platform release that should be going out around March of next year. It’s now available as an OTA for Pixel devices. That’s Pixel 6 and newer.

It’s still very early for QPR2 Beta 1, but we do know some changes coming to this beta. Android Authority has already uncovered that it will be adding customizable “modes” for Do Not Disturb. Giving users more control over Do Not Disturb functions. It is also adding a new Linux Terminal app. This is a feature that users, particularly developers, have wanted for years.

We’ll likely be seeing many more tweaks and smaller features in this update, as we typically see in QPR betas. Along with plenty of new features for the Pixel feature drop in March.

When can I download Android 15 QPR2 Beta 1?

So when can you download the beta for your Pixel device? It actually started rolling out while writing this article. It can be downloaded for the Pixel 6 and later. So that includes Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

As usual, to get the beta, you’ll need to enroll in the Android Beta Program. You can choose which devices you enroll in the beta, and we strongly recommend not enrolling your daily driver into the beta program as these betas can be very unstable and have loads of bugs that make it almost impossible to use. So, if you have another Pixel device lying around, enroll that. Unless you really want to mess around with this beta – though it’s not a huge update, it’s probably better not to install the beta on this one.
