Andy Cohen went viral again for the way he chose to ring in the New Year on live television.
After the ball dropped during CNN’s New Year’s Eve 2025 broadcast, the Watch What Happens Live host shared his feelings about former New York City mayor Eric Adams, whose single four-year term had just ended.
Joined by Anderson Cooper and B.J. Novak, Cohen raised a shot glass and vented about what he called “watching the final moments of Mayor Adams’ chaotic, horrible” tenure.
Cooper and Novak appeared amused and slightly alarmed as Cohen continued.
Andy Cohen had some *drunken* words for exiting New York Mayor Eric Adams
“You got your pardons, go off into the sunset…. We’ll fiddle with what we have left”

“I mean, he got his pardons,” Cohen said. “I’m just saying, great. You got your pardons. Go off into the sunset. We’ll fiddle with what we have, with what you’ve left us with.”
Novak jokingly suggested that Cohen has a pattern when it comes to city leaders, teasing that he has a “thing” against mayors while name-checking former mayor Bill de Blasio, who Cohen criticized on a previous New Year’s Eve broadcast.
Cohen then called out Adams’ nightlife habits, adding, “I just want to say, goodbye, Mayor Adams, you did it, you did it, you did it, didn’t you?”
Adams has since been succeeded by Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
