“Angela Okorie was arrested yesterday at her residence in Lagos by the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre from Abuja. She spent the night at Yaba Panti due to a lack of available flights to Abuja at the time of her arrest. This morning, she was placed on a 6 AM flight to Abuja, where she will face court proceedings connected to the cybercrime matter involving Mercy Johnson,” he wrote.
Last year, Okorie publicly apologized to Johnson, stating that after reflecting on certain events, she was grateful to be alive. She acknowledged that her emotions had sometimes taken over, leading her to say hurtful things. Angela expressed her realization that her words, which stemmed from a place of pain, were damaging.
For years, Angela had attacked Mercy Johnson without revealing specific reasons. After a period of silence, she resumed her feud last year during an Instagram Live session where she claimed to have forgiven Johnson after learning that she was seriously ill. However, she advised Johnson to seek forgiveness from those she had wronged and criticized her for using church language that did not align with her actions.
Regina Daniels responded to Angela’s claims via her Instagram story, asserting that Angela was acting irrationally by advising Mercy not to forgive.
In 2024, Angela accused Mercy Johnson and her mother of witchcraft. She participated in an Instagram Live session with Mercy’s former best friend, who called her out for witchcraft and claimed that her late mother was the mastermind behind certain issues. The friend alleged that Mercy was aware of multiple deaths occurring in Nollywood and had affected the destinies of the popular music group Style Plus, among others.
Following her ongoing feud with Johnson, Angela revealed that she unfollowed Mercy Johnson’s goddaughter, Regina Daniels, along with others, claiming that frustration had led her to consider extreme reactions. She alleged that they had sent negative energies her way, but she maintained that these attempts had failed and warned that they would soon face serious consequences. She boldly stated to Mercy that she could not be silenced, either physically or spiritually.
