For the past few weeks, social media has been abuzz with mixed reactions, with some netizens expressing surprise over rumours of a marriage crash between Nollywood actress Anita Joseph and her husband, Fisayo Olagunju, better known as MC Fish.

While some of these marriages end in messy social media dramas, with lovers making accusations and engaging in heated exchanges, others quietly end with little or no social media drama.

1. Anita Joseph and MC Fish: In November 2025, reports made rounds online that the marriage of Anita Joseph and MC Fish had crashed over alleged domestic violence and infidelity.

Celebrity journalist, Stella Dimoko Korkus, in a post via Instagram, confirmed that Anita and MC Fish have gone their separate ways and does not want to make any press statement regarding the issue.

According to the SDK, sources privy to the issue said that after MC Fish joined the Freemason fraternity, things took a downturn with their family, with both managing until they could no longer hold it together.

Since then, Anita has neither confirmed nor denied the rumours. However, in a post shared on her Instagram page, the movie star made it clear that she will speak when she is ready.

2. Sabinus and Ciana Chapman: In 2023, Nigerian skit maker, Sabinus and his UK-based lover, Ciana Chapman, got married in a private ceremony.

However, in 2024, the marriage became a topic of discussion following rumours of their marital issues as Sabinus was accused of domestic violence, cheating and being an absentee father to their daughter.

During a TikTok live stream session with his colleague, Carter Efe, Sabinus clarified that he was not married, stressing that his marriage ended peacefully.

The skit maker added that he and his daughter’s mother remain on good terms.

3. Basketmouth and Elsie Okpocha: In December 2022, Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, and his wife, Elsie Okpocha, caused a buzz on social media after they publicly announced their separation after twelve years of marriage.

Despite the outrage online at the time, the ex-couple never engaged in any social media callout or drama.

4. AY and Mabel Makun: Nigerian ace comedian cum filmmaker, Ayo Makun, better known as AY, publicly announced his separation from his wife, Mabel, on April 7, 2024. In a statement released on his Instagram page at the time, AY cited unresolved issues and said he would not reveal the details of his personal family matters to the public.

Since the end of their union, neither AY nor Mabel has made public comments about each other online.

5. 2Baba and Annie Macaulay: After 12 years of marriage, Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba, on January 26, 2025, announced that his union with his wife, Annie, had ended.

While Annie failed to address issues regarding the marriage publicly, 2Baba has since moved on with his new wife, Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker in Edo state.

5. Ninalowo Bolanle and Bunmi: In October 2023, Nollywood actor, Bolanle Ninalowo, after 18 years, announced the end of his marriage. The movie star said he and his wife had mutually agreed to dissolve their marriage due to irreconcilable differences, and he asked the public to respect their privacy.

Neither of them has made any public comments about the other since then.
