Aoki Lee Simmons Says She’s Not Coming Back to the U.S. Anytime Soon… And Bali Looks Like Her New Home
Aoki Lee Simmons is living her best life — and she is not shy about it.
The 23-year-old model and daughter of fashion icon Kimora Lee Simmons and music mogul Russell Simmons just made it very clear that she has no plans to return to the United States anytime soon. Over the weekend, Aoki shared a series of Instagram Stories giving fans a glimpse into her stunning life in Bali, along with a message that said it all.
“Move back to the US this. Move back to the US that,” she wrote. “I get to wear a backless sundress every single day & I never have to wear shoes, the answer is no.”
And judging by the photos, she is not exaggerating.
In the stories, Aoki showed off breathtaking views from what appears to be a luxury home or resort. One shot showed lush greenery visible from her bed. Another was taken from her shower, opening up to a tropical outdoor scene. She ended the series with a soft caption that read, “But I miss you all.”
Aoki has been spending time in Bali, where her father Russell Simmons has lived since 2018. Russell relocated there following multiple sexual assault allegations in the United States, which he has denied. In 2024, he also pushed back on claims that he is unable to freely return to the U.S.
Despite the very public fallout between Russell and his daughters in recent years, there appears to be some healing happening behind the scenes. In December 2024, Russell shared that Aoki spent the holidays with him in Bali.
“For the last month I have been so blessed to have my brilliant loving and amazing daughter here,” he wrote at the time. “There is no greater gift to a dad than his daughter.”
He also shared footage of Aoki practicing yoga earlier this year, reflecting on how he introduced both Aoki and her sister Ming to yogic science when they were children.
Aoki’s personal life has also made headlines. In 2024, she was briefly linked to 65-year-old restaurateur Vittorio Assafafter the two were spotted kissing. The relationship reportedly ended within days, but the internet reaction was intense.
Her mother, Kimora, later spoke about the situation, calling large age-gap relationships “predatorial” and admitting she was shocked to learn about the romance when the public did.
Now, Aoki seems focused on herself, her peace, and her new environment.
Between the tropical scenery, barefoot mornings, and sun-soaked days, it is clear why she is in no rush to leave.
And honestly… who would be?
For now, Bali is home.
